Partnering with ONEE

Rainmaker is working directly with the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) in Morrocco to bring clean drinking water to their 900+ communities which have been identified as ideal locations for our Air-To-Water (AW) and Water-To-Water (WW) solutions.

ONEE is the pillar of the energy strategy and the armed wing of the State in the water and sanitation sector in Morocco. Since the mid-1990s, the Office has been on all fronts: generalization of access to electricity and drinking water, purification of wastewater and development of the liquid sanitation service, modernization and extension of production, marketing and distribution networks of electrical and hydraulic resources, fight against waste and implementation of new instruments and techniques for saving water and electricity, etc.1

Besides the opportunity in sales of units for rural areas, the Moroccan government has shown that they are interested in realizing a 1 million liter per day, air to water production project near already locally existing wind and solar farms. The idea is to generate the water from the air using wind and solar farms as power generators. Morocco has indicated that they are interested to realize a total of 10 of these types of projects across the country.

2022 and Beyond

MNH is in the process of funding and developing a much larger scale project for Morocco that will include scaled versions of both AW and WW systems. These installations will be fully customized to meet each location’s direct needs and have the option to be operated off-grid using 100% renewable energy.
